There is no simple answer to which honor societies students should join, but below are some important things consider:

• If eligible, a good rule might be to join one honor society a year during your education.
• In general, you should select the organizations with the most opportunities to actually do something or ones that have scholarship opportunities.
• Students should also explore if the organization(s) is/are members of the Association of College Honor Societies. While this is certainly not proof that the organization is reputable, this list can be helpful in screening some of your choices.
• Students should also consult the list of honors and recognition societies and their OSU representatives.
